NDC VICTORY 2020, SURE BET TO TRANSFORM LIVES OF SMALL SCALE MINERS- ELECTED P. C.
The elected Parliamentary Candidate of NDC for Manso Nkwanta constituency has assured small scale miners battling to make ends-meet of better days ahead after NDC victory in the upcoming 2020 general elections.
Alhaji Ousman Musah believes NPP government led by Nana Akuffo Addo's campaign message of ensuring a better playing field for small scale miners has become a rhetoric and again worsened the plight of small scale miners.
According to him, in spite of the numerous policies rolled out by government to regulate small scale mining, the result is woefully abysmal because the story remains the same and small scale miners are now wallowing in abject poverty.
He said, a proper audit on government activities regarding the regulation of small scale mining by President Akuffo Addo should be demanded from Ghanaians if they care to prove his point .
Alhaji Ousman who pulled 509 votes to beat former DCE Alex Kwame Bonsu and Michael Afranie who got 221 and 55 votes respectively in the recent held primaries is confident that, counting on the previous experience of John Dramani Mahama and his resort to consult stakeholders in fashioning out national policies, the future will be promising for small scale miners.
On the issue of bad roads which is the biggest concern of the constituency, he reveals organising available resources from stakeholders especially miners to augment that of government to fix the problem.
He expressed worry over complain from cocoa farmers on the current fertilizer supply mechanism in terms of affordability as compare to the NDC era when the fertilizer was given out free of charge.
Alhaji Musah who is a small scale miner opined that, the time is now to have a small scale miner in parliament to put in the right perspective their grievances.
He is therefore calling on NDC supporters to embark on a decisive campaign to expose the lies peddled by the NPP before the 2016 general elections which sought to describe John Dramani Mahama and the NDC as corrupt and incompetent because the NPP government has proven to be worst culprit of corruption and incompetence.
