WE HAVE SOLUTION TO CLEAR UP THE MESS ON THE RIVERBODIES- GNASSM DECLARES
The Ghana National Association Of Small Scale Miners believe they have the approach to rid- off the riverbodies, miscreants who continue to cause pollution through illegal mining.
This request by the association is a follow up upon several ones earlier proposed in many stakeholder engagements including radio programs on the way forward to stop river pollution in Ghana.
Reacting to the story by GWCL in a recent publication on the continuous upsurge of pollution on some rivers by the activities of Illegal mining, the association has resolved to move in and fill up the gap.
GNASSM wants government to demonstrate good faith with the association and see how things could turn around for positive results
We have the track record in respect to our taskforce who were behind most of the successful stories of both Operation Vanguard and Galamstop, GNASSM declares.
The association is set to meet GWCL to consider possibilities of creating a collaboration to swiftly reverse the trend
GNASSM after observing following events that characterises government policies on illegal small scale mining and the attendant challenges wants to be given the needed attention and support to play active role in the nation's pursuit of responsible and sustainable mining.
