Don’t Play Politics with Corruption – PC Appiah Ofori

Anti Corruption Crusader, Mr. P.C Appiah Ofori says politicians should not as usual play political gimmicks with corruption perceptions in the country.
Commenting on the Corruption Perception Index (CPI) on the OMANBAPA morning show with Nana Kwabena Ampra-Twum, Mr. Appiah entreated citizens to joining hands in the fight against the canker.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said the latest Corruption Perception Index (CPI) by Transparency International indicates that the Akufo-Addo government has woefully failed in fighting corruption.

Ghana scored 41 out of a possible clean score of 100 and ranked 80 out of 180 countries/territories included in the 2019 index which was released on Thursday, January 23, 2020, through Transparency International’s local chapter, Ghana Integrity Initiative (GII).

The NDC believes the NPP government that heavily criticised the erstwhile Mahama administration over corruption has disappointed Ghanaians.

A statement signed by the National Communication Officer, Mr Sammy Gyamfi, said: “As a man who touted his vainglorious anti-corruption credentials with a promise to ruthlessly deal with corruption when elected, Akufo-Addo has performed way below the expectations of Ghanaians.

But in his assertions on OMANBAPA, the Anti Corruption Crusader said, “this is not the matter of politicization; we should all come together and fight it”.

He stated that, since time immemorial, corruption has been on the neck of the country adding that, from Kuffour’s administration to the late Atta Mills not excluding Former President Mahama and presently, we’re not doing well to eliminate corruption.
