Single Traditional Rep on Each Assembly is ‘Impertinent’ – BANTAMAHENE Charges
Bantamahene and Chairman of the Kumasi Traditional Council (KTC), Baffour Owusu Amankwatia (VI), has said, given only one slot to the traditional council on each assembly is not enough.

According to Baffour, the letter sent to the government through the Ashanti Regional Minister is a signal and if failed to adhere to their concerns and address it, Manhyia will have no option than to proceed withdrawing its members from the various assemblies.

Bantamahene stated that Kumasi Metropolitan Assemblies and other assemblies should reconsider adding up traditional reps.
Baffour Owusu Amankwatia (IV) disclosed on OMANBAPA morning show with the host Nana Kwabena Ampra-Twum that, Fifty Five Per Cent (55%) of ‘Nananom’ land revenues goes to the government for development, this implies Nananom plays major role in developing the nation.

According to Bantamahene, the decision has become necessary this time because they believe there is an attempt to sidelining and eliminating traditional leaders in governance at the local level.

 “Slowly, the central government is gradually reducing the influence of traditional leaders from the local level. I’m saying this because, previously we had five (5) representation on each assembly BUT now it has reduced to one (1), which very worrying and disgusting to us”, Bantamahene fumed on SILVER morning show Friday.
