"WE'RE SORRY, WE TOOK OUR RECTOR'S WORDS OUT OF CONTEXT" - V.V UNIVERSITY STUDENTS APOLOGISE



The student body of Valley View University (VVU) Kumasi Branch, have apologised to the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Dr. E.B Amponsah for what they termed as unfortunate reaction.
It was earlier reported that, rector of the school, Dr. E.B Amponsah has denigrated and insulted the personalities of sandwich students of the named institution.

According to majority of the students who spoke to FILASCO DEGENERAL on condition of anonymity, the said rector used unaccepted utterances against the students.

They disclosed in various exclusive interview that, Professor Dr. E.B Amponsah described the aged students as 'village teachers with no sense'.
Adding that, they are ancient teaching staffs.
"I taught I was dealing with 21st Century teachers(students) but not knowing you're archaic ones with village mentality", Mr. E.B Amponsah was quoted by a student(teacher) in exclusive interview with FILASCO DEGENERAL.

All these brouhaha came into the news after the introduction of GHc300.00 by the school authorities to be paid by the students. The student body said the amount is unjustifiable hence will not pay.
They demonstrated against the payment and that angered the rector to meet with them. After the unsuccessful meeting, the students came out with the aforementioned statements.

Another student even revealed that, a female student protesting vigorously against the payment was described as 'WITCH' by the rector.
" Ah, are you a witch" the rector quizzes.
In reaction and insight of the story, special committee was set up by the school from headquarters, led by the Special Assistant to the V.C of Valley View University, Oyibi-Accra, Pastor Joe Aaron Hagan.

After thorough investigation of the matter, the students body was accepted to have taken the rector's comment at the meeting out of total context. The students agreed that, they misquoted their boss with anger and unhappiness over the amount.

They added that, the GHc300.00 which they protested against, currently have been justified and accepted by them as necessary.

Speaking on behalf of the students, one Osei Emmanuel, a leading member of the students who stood against the amount and came out with the news, rendered an unqualified  apology to the rector.

According to him, the students body express remorse to publishing false information about him and retract from all  the actions.

"I, Osei Emmanuel stand on behalf of my colleagues to apologise to our rector, Professor Dr. E.B Amponsah that, the information brought out in the media domain against him was uncalled for and asks for forgiveness and also urged the various media outlets to un-follow the issue", Osei Emmanuel stressed on SILVER FM,98.3MHz, January 6,2020 evening news-Monday.

The Assistant Registrar, Mr. Charles Oppong who was mentioned to have supported the students also rubbished the news saying, it is untrue that the rector insulted students and stamped on the necessarily of the payment of the money.

" Yes! there was a meeting between the rector and the angry students to explain things but he never insulted them as been speculated", the Assistant of Valley View University, Kumasi, Mr. Charles Oppong elaborated.

The issue has been settled amicably between the students and the school rector, other heads without any provocation.

With smiling faces and joyous moves, students, teachers have vowed to take the name of the school to a higher level.
