I WAS SHOCKED WHEN POLICE MAN TOLD ME COVID 19 IS NOT REAL-MEDICAL DOCTOR CRIES
Dr. Boakye Donkor, the Executive Director of Private Health Providers has sadly disclosed that he was shocked yesterday when a police man tasked to enforce the Covid 19 protocols without hesitation pointed out to him on the street that, *there is no coronavirus in the system*.
*I was driving and I saw the police man on duty on the road side.I stopped and asked him, officer where is your nose mask.Without mincing words, he look to me straight and told me that, "Massa there is no Coronavirus anywhere.....I was shocked and sad to hear that from a police man ordered to enforce law in the country*
Meanwhile, the government has disclosed that, Ghana may face new restriction if the figures keep increasing.
The Minister for Information Designate, Hon. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on behalf of the government revealed that there is a possibility of new restrictions to be put in place, if the country keeps witnessing a constant increase in the coronavirus cases.
According to the Ofoase Ayerebi MP, looking at the current trend of daily infections, it is possible that the government will introduce new restrictions that will help to curb the rise.
The country has witnessed huge increment in the case count for the month of January.
As of Monday, 25 January 2021, six additional deaths had taken Ghana’s total COVID-19 fatalities to 367.
The active cases had also jumped to 3, 286 from 2,413.
Some 679 new cases had been recorded.
Speaking on the issue with Nana Ampratwum on Omanbapa Morning show on Silver FM, Dr. Boakye Donkor suggested that the punishment or the fine for the flouters of the Covid 19 protocols should be severed to refrain people from not wearing especially the nose mask.
He said failure to apply these sanctions result in the number increasing daily.
He was afraid that if the active cases keep climbing, it will deteriorate citizens and live will become unbearable in the country .
Hence calling on the citizenry to as a matter of urgency comply with the Coronavirus laid down protocols to avert future lockdown/restriction.
