NPP MUST CONDEMN CARLOS AHENKORAH~~~ GOVERNANCE EXPERT
Social and Governance Analyst, Mr Kojo Addo has asked the NPP party to condemn the Member of Parliament for Tema West Constituency, Carlos Ahenkorah for exhibiting such a disgraceful act during the dissolving of the 7th Parliament on January 6, 2020.
The Tema West NPP member of parliament displayed political 'Rambo style' by snatching ballot papers during the election of a new Speaker for the 8th Parliament.
The act of the former Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry has got him go viral on social media and some international media platforms.
Although, many have condemned the snatching of ballot papers in Parliament by the lawmaker.
But Mr. Ahenkorah in a press statement after series of condemnations said, he is heartbroken for the turnout of events on the day in parliament.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kojo Addo who is a Social, Political and Governance analyst commenting on the drama on Newday FM "The Point" political program on Saturday, he said, the MP actions can never be justified.
Adding that, what the lawmaker did "is a dench on his credibility as an individual" and consequently that of the country especially, on a full glear of the international communities in a democratic despentation of governance.
In his statement, he expects the party secretary Mr. John Boadu, Mr. Freddy Blay and the NPP leadership to muster the courage and unequivocally condemn the lawmaker’s unfortunate action.
He finally plead the public to seek moral or legal clarifications to find applicable sanctions against Carlos Ahenkorah for the offense of snatching ballot papers under the electoral act.
