A/R; TRADERS GO HARD ON RCC, KMA

Section of the Central Market Traders have vowed to deal with their own party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the angry Traders in an interview with Silver FM's Akwadaa Nyame, they pointed out the inhumane treatment meting on them by the Government's reps in the region, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Hon. Simon Osei Mensah and the Mayor of the Metropolis, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi.

They disclosed that these prominent persons have discriminately denied them places to trade.

They lamented that, they had been evicted from their place without assurance to different place hence calling on the authorities to rescind their decision and find them place before evacuation.

"Our blood pressure had risen up due to the situation we are facing", they revealed.

Another trader added that, she has paid an amount of ghc5000 to the authorities for store but to no avail.,

In reaction, the Personnel Aid to the Mayor, Mr. George Amponsah has refuted the claims of the traders describing it as misinformation on the part of their leaders.

According to him, the reps of these aggrieved traders have failed to communicate to their members the plans and the decision of the assembly to get a different place for them before eviction takes place.

He told Nana Ampratwum on the Omanbapa Morning Show on Silver FM that, the timeline for the eviction has not taken effect thereby calling on them to corporate with the assembly to avoid being fed with false information.

He also elaborated that majority of those traders demonstrating against the assembly refused to trade inside the newly built Kejetia over low patronage and chose to relocate themselves.
