ONE DEAD IN ASAFO FIRE OUTBREAK
One person has been confirmed dead when fire destroyed first floor of story building at Dadiesoaba, a suburb of Asafo in the Kumasi metropolitan Assembly of the Ashanti Region on Thursday, 17 June, 2021.
The fire according to a report started around 12:30 am from a chamber and Hall of one of the family members who is now a deceased and the fire spread to other rooms.
The deceased, Kwadwo Fordjour believed to be in his fifties, was trapped in the room and died before the fire service personnels arrived.
According to the Assembly member of the area Hon Akwasi Agyemang, he had a distress call around 7:00 am on Thursday and quickly dispatched to the scene.
One of victim Godfred Boateng said they called KMA fire service but due the intensity of the fire, an additional two tenders were deployed from Manhyia to assist.
"It is important to state that one man was killed by the fire and his body has been sent to the morgue."
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased Kwadwo Boateng Fordjour has been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue pending autopsy. *Story: Akwadaa Nyame (Silver FM)*
