AREN'T YOU CAPABLE OF BUYING YOUR OWN CARS?-MPs QUIZZED
Political Analyst is asking Members of Parliament (MPs) in the country to point out those amongst them incapable to afford their own cars.
He is calling on the MPs to throw out the request by the Finance Ministry for a $28 million loan from the National Investment Bank (NIB) to purchase 275 vehicles for legislators in the eighth Parliament.
Deputy Finance Minister, Abena Osei Asare, on Tuesday, July 6, laid the request before the Floor of the House.
The Minister also presented a similar request for a $3.5 million car loan for members of the 8th Council of State for them to purchase vehicles.
But reacting to this on *Silver FM's Morning Show, Mr. Boakye Yiadom, a Political Analyst* told the host of the show, *Nana Ampratwum* that, the procurement of vehicles for MPs is not the need of the average Ghanaian.
He said government should place priority on the citizens, providing quality education as well as providing quality healthcare and good roads.
“Parliament is yet to approve a loan of $28m to buy cars, my question is, what do the parliamentarians use their salaries for? Can’t they use their own cars? Or Can't they buy a new cars from their salaries if the need be?” Mr. Yiadom quizzed.
