ASHANTI CONGRESS DECENDS ON OTUMFOUR ATTACKERS

Currently, majority of the citizenry are of the view that, illegal mining popularly known as galamsey has become the obstacle to the development of the nation.

Waters, lands, properties etc. etc. are been destroyed through the activities of galamsey.

President Akuffo Addo via his quest to eliminate the menace launched taskforce to clampdown the activity.

A team consisting of various security operatives made up the force to fish out illegal mining operators in the country.

For this fight to be successful, leaders especially Chiefs in the Ashanti Region led by the Asante Mornach, Otumfour Osei Tutu (ii) threw their unflinching support to the President's agenda.

Otumfour during his speech at the MANHYIA palace with the authorities of the Lands and Natural Resources Ministry with Regional and other sector ministers warned Chiefs involving in illegal mining activities to put a stop else santions will be meted out to them.

He condemned the act and asked his sub chiefs to follow suit.

But some recalcitrant individual took his Royal Majesty's word to the cleaners.

People like Twene Jonas bashed him and asked the Asante King to do the needful.

But in a move to prevent the image of the great King from being tarnished, a group calling itself  THE ASHANTI CONGRESS has issued a stern warning to such people.

According to the Chairman of the group, Dr. Asafo Adjei, they are ready to step into the gutters with anyone who goes against the King.

He said never again will the Ashanti Congress sit aloof for disrespectful persons to speak against Otumfour.

He made these know to the press during a press briefing at the MANHYIA PALACE.
