MPASAASO NO.1: MALE, FEMALE PATIENTS SHARE SAME WARD

MPASAASO NO.1: MALE, FEMALE PATIENTS SHARE SAME WARD*

The residents of Mpasaaso No. 1, a farming community in the Ahafo Ano South West District of the Ashanti Region, have described as unhealthy the fact that both male and female patients who are admitted at the area's only health facility have to share the same ward.

The people asserted that because of the situation at the center, the male and female patients are compelled to look at each other's nakedness unintentionally at the ward.

Confirming the disgusting situation on Silver FM's Omanbapa Morning Show, Hon. Louis Otuo Acheampong, assembly member of the area told the host of the show, Nana Ampratwum that, the same ward at the health facility also serves as the children's wards when sick children in the farming community have to be admitted.

He alleged that what is so pathetic is the fact that the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Johnson Kwaku Adu although pledged to support the facility but has refused to honour the promise.

All This came to light when SILVER FM visited the community and interacted with the people.

On his part to respond to the claims against him by the assembly member of the area on the same platform, Hon. Johnson Kwaku Adu refuted the allegations that he has turned deaf ears to the development of the community not to even talk about the health center.

He disclosed that, efforts are in the pipeline to re-occupy the facility with metal beds adding that Seven (7) were requested from him by the health practitioners there but as he speaks three have been given to them whiles the remaining are at the wielding shop for completion and delivery.

These he said refute the claims against him by the small honourable saying he is not relenting on his effort to supporting the facility and the community as a whole.

He, however, stressed that the current situation at the center is very worrying.
