NLC, GOV'T SLAPPING US FROM BEHIND-UNIVERSITIES SNR STAFF LAMENT
The Chairman of the Universities Senior Staff Association of Ghana branch at KNUST, *Mr. George Ansong* is worried how National Labour Commission (NLC) in coniving with Government have tied their hands at their back making helplessly.
According to Mr. Ansong, these bodies are robbing them of their own saved fund thereby slapping them front and back for asking for their rightful demand.
He therefore stressed on it that, the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana will petition parliament over the government's failure to address conditions of service concerns it has been complaining about for a while now.
Speaking on Silver FM, he said government has flouted the spirit of the *Single Spine Salary Structure*. Reiterating the Association's threat to resume its strike.
Members of the Association are asking for the award of market premium and non basic allowance, as well as the finalisation of negotiations of their conditions of service.
This according to Mr. George Ansong, Labour Commission has failed to fight and protect the Association by holding government accountable to adhere to their demands.
"The NLC is not helping us, and now we have no one to fight for us so we are petitioning parliament because what we are fighting government for is for the future of the members of the Association", Mr. Anson said on the *Omanbapa Morning Show* on *Silver FM* hosted by *Nana Ampratwum*
