CAN JUSTICE EVER BE SERVED IN KAAKA'S MURDER CASE?-POLITICAL SCIENTIST ASKS

CAN JUSTICE EVER BE SERVED IN KAAKA'S MURDER CASE?-POLITICAL SCIENTIST ASKS*

There is no deniable fact that, Kaaka did not die of natural causes; he was murdered in cold blood.

A murder that rattled the whole country. A murder that has divided a whole country. A murder with huge political capital as well as liability. A murder whose aftermath has claimed two lives.

This is a murder whose impact can never be discounted.

Kaaka's family visited the Chief Imam yesterday to plead for him to use his influence to expedite investigation and trial of all those involved in his murder as well as the implementation of the recommendations made by the Committee set up by the government to investigate the cause(s) of his death as well as the shooting to death of two persons by the military who were sent to Ejura to restore calm following demonstration and rioting resulting from the death of Kaaka.

Sharing his opinion on the matter, *a Political Scientist and Tutor at Prempeh College, Mr. CLEMENT ADU ACHEAMPONG* is asking that, with conflicting testimonies as well as conflicting reports by the family, witnesses, media and the police, "can there ever be justice for Kaaka"?

He said, it is surprising that as we speak, there has never been a clear cut reason(s) as to whether Kaaka, a social justice activist, a member of "fix the country" movement or was murdered by his brother as it's been speculated by a "witness" and the police or as a result of his politics.

Mr. Acheampong sadly unearthed that, he weeps for the family of Kaaka each day especially his wife and kids.

However, the *Political Scientist* believes that the Police and his family hold the key to knowing who his actual killer(s) is/are.

The *Prempeh College Tutor* disclosed that the stories from both ends lack details. Until both sides come clear and clean the actual killer(s), if not the ones put before the court, walk free.

He added that we need to learn as a country to learn from this needless murder.

*Mr. Acheampong* lamented that, Political capitalization of everything is our biggest challenge as a country adding that the moment political parties assume ownership of such debates, nothing gets solved in this country.

"Until such a time, I pray for Kaaka and his family. I pray that they get the justice that they so much deserve" he prayed.
