HOW SPECIAL ARE YOU TO CALL FOR REFORM-NDC TOLD
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), is proposing the appointment of Commissioners of the Electoral Commission (EC) to be subjected to parliamentary approval.
This is part of the opposition party’s over thirty proposed recommendations for electoral reforms.
NDC is making a point that the current mode of appointing Chairpersons of the electoral management body and its members appears partisan, arguing that representatives of the people must have a hand in the appointment.
But, a former Communicator of the party who is now the Founder and Leader of the National Liberation Congress Party, Stephen Atubiga says the NDC do not have the veins asking for Reformation of the Electoral Commission (EC).
According to Atubiga, NDC itself needs to be reformed to get the wrong leaders of the party out hence nullifies their call.
He said, these kind of proposals are the reasons why IPAC was established to address these issues.
"If you boycott IPAC meetings and you later hide somewhere calling for a reform which should be proposed at the Inter Party Advisory committee, who do you think you are?
How special are to call for a reform by own. They don't know what they are doing as a party because wrong executives are leading the party", Stephen Atubiga said on Silver FM Morning Show.
