IMITATE DR. KWAKU OTENG TO CURB UNEMPLOYMENT - FRIENDS OF DR...........

Ghanaians urged to support Gov’t in creating jobs Ghanaians have been urged to support the Government in creating jobs to help create employment for the youth. The issue of jobless growth in Ghana has become a major concern, particularly due to rising unemployment among the youth. Services have emerged as the driver of growth in Ghana, contrary to the experiences in East Asia and other newly industrialized countries where manufacturing exports led growth and added capacity to absorb low- to medium-skilled workers. In fact, in Ghana, manufacturing has performed abysmally, with an average growth rate of 3.2 percent between 2008 to 2017. Therefore, a Group calling themselves as ‘Friends of Dr. Kwaku Oteng Society GH.’ is calling on the affluent in the society to help government to create more jobs for the youth to curb the high rate of unemployment in Ghana. According to the Chairman of the Group, Mr. James Arthur, Government alone cannot satisfy the needs of the people especially the youths hence the need for other individuals’ i.e rich in the society to support the move. He finally entreated the youth to also take advantage of any opportunity.
