ASSEMBLY MEMBERS SHOULD VOTE TO RENEW THE MANDATE OF MMDCEs ANNUALLY

ASSEMBLY MEMBERS SHOULD VOTE TO RENEW THE MANDATE OF MMDCEs ANNUALLY.

The Presidential candidate for the Ghana Union Movement of 2020 general polls, Rev. Christian Kwabena Andrew says MMDCEs should be confirmed by assembly members annually based on their performance.

He said a year under review should be served as a clear perimeter in assessing their performance.

Speaking in an interview with the press following the ongoing nationwide endorsement process of MMDCE nominees, the man of God is admonishing the Ghanaian authorities that the assembly members should be empowered to extend or not to extend the mandate of MMDCEs through the ballot box every year within the four-year mandate.

According to the leader of the Ghana Union Movement, should one fail to obtain the required Corum which is 2/3 of the general assembly means the members have rejected the person as a result of his or her inability to live up to expectations in the previous 12 months.

He said it has to trigger another nomination from the President for confirmation.

He said, he is making these proposals to be effected  in our local governments  as a result of several rejections that have characterized the endorsement process.

Rev. Christian K. Andrew is of the view that the implementation of these  proposals would bring about accountability and numerous development at local levels.
