UPDATE: 3 BODIES RETRIEVED FROM RIVER OFFIN, 1 STILL MISSING-NADMO Three dead bodies have been retrieved but one is still missing after a canoe capsized on the Offin River at New Achiase in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region. The incident happened Friday after some residents who were trying to cross the river got trapped. According to the Regional Administrator for National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Nana Atakora Koduah, Eight (8) persons were on board of the canoe that got drown. Four (4) out of the 8 survived while the remaining 4 got drown in the river. Two (2) out of the 4 who drown were found dead on Sunday, October 10, 2021 and on Monday, October 11, 2021, one other person was also found making three in total as at the time of filling this report in an interview with the NADMO Administrator today, Tuesday, October 12, 2021. “I’m aware four persons were trapped earlier. We have been able to retrieve three but we are not giving up. The search continues till the last body is found, Nana Atakora told Silver FM’s FILASCO DEGENERAL. The three found bodies have been buried.
