No Trader will be Allowed to Uneasy Our Task – Mayor
Kumasi is lockdown following the directive by the
President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo to prevent the spread of the novel
coronavirus.
The exercise began yesterday, March 30, 2020.
Day one witnessed some hitches as some recalcitrant
tested the waters to see how vibrant the situation would be as first of its
kind in the areas.
Some traders specifically Dr. Mensah struggled with
section of the security personnel over space to trade which was later contained
after KMA’s intervention.
Speaking to the press today as the second day of the
lockdown directive, Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey said the assembly will make
to strengthen its bylaws to make the process a successful one.
Touching on some of uncalled for behaviours on some
part of the traders, he said the assembly which he heads will not allow any
recalcitrant trader or individual to challenge the rules governing the process.
“We’ll exercise calm but will not hesitate to do the
right thing”.
