The number of coronavirus cases globally topped 200,000 on Wednesday, as people in the U.S. and in countries across the world adjusted to life under lockdown and isolation.

According to Johns Hopkins University, there are more currently more than 201,000 confirmed cases and 8,000 deaths related to coronavirus.
The United States and many European nations have this week installed measures to stop the spread of coronavirus, including curfews and restrictions on movement. U.S. nationals are among those traveling back to their home nations.

The U.S. death toll surpassed 100 on Tuesday as all 50 states have now reported cases, and the E.U. announced sweeping restrictions on most travel within the 27-country bloc.

Ghana has confirmed its 7th case of coronavirus, Information minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has announced.

It comes days after four additional cases were confirmed Sunday after the initial two that were recorded last Thursday.

So far, total of 143 suspected cases have been tested for COVID-19 by the Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research (NMIMR) and Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research (KCCR).
On Monday, two Italians who were set to enter Ghana were stopped from entering the country.
The move is part of Ghana’s effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.

To prevent the spread, Ghana government has imposed ban on all public gatherings like conferences, funerals, festivals, political rallies, Church services, Islamic worship for 4 weeks which started Monday, 16th March, 2020.

President Nana Akufo-Addo announced the ban on Sunday night after inter-ministerial committee on coronavirus response meeting.
After deliberations, government reviewed the public gathering advisory for de protection of Ghanaians.

The Government shut down all schools and Universities whether public or private, Church Services etc for the sake of coronavirus outbreak.
The move according to government is in line with the plans to ensure public safety and protection of the Ghanaian population.

But the closure of the church services has met several misgivings for the fact that, market places, restaurants, spot centers have been spared.
This requested for the need to speak to a renounced Presby Evangelist, I.G Boakye- the Leader of Presbyterian Prayer Network.

Given his submission on SILVER NEWS, Evangelist I.G Boakye opined that, banning church services, schools and others are not the panacea to the problem.

Disclosing a shocking revelation, I.G referred us to the history surrounding the whole outbreak. According to him, in 1720, there was the first malaria outbreak, which killed One Hundred Thousand (100,000) people.
Adding that, 1820, the first Cholera outbreak in the World killed One Hundred Thousand (100,000) people adding that, World War I, also known as the First World War or the Great War, was a global war originating in Europe that lasted from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918.

And in 1920, global disease called Spanish Fluid affected Five Hundred Million (500,000,000) people and killed over Hundred Million (100,000,000) people.

At this stage, Evangelist I.G Boakye accomplished that, the novel CORONAVIRUS is the 2020 WORLD WAR (WW) which should not be taken lightly.

“Putting ban on church services, closing schools, banning funerals, public gatherings etc is not the solution BUT prayer is the way to go”, Evangelist I.G Boakye concluded.
