We’ve failed as Politicians to follow Rawlings path in Corruption fight– Yaw Boateng Gyan commits

Rawlings was gifted by God to be admired by anyone and wherever he stands, crowds pull out for him.

He was committed to fighting the canker of corruption in the country. He did his best part during his reign as the Leader of the nation both the Military and the Democratic era.

But we’ve failed as politicians to continue his fight against corruption; these are the words of the former National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Yaw Boateng Gyan.

Commenting on the demise of the Former President Jerry John Rawlings, Mr. Gyan said, the current dispensation of politicians have no interest in clamping down corrupt people as J.J did which he described as very disturbing.

Mr. Rawlings who was the First President under the Fourth Republic passed away Thursday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

Jerry John Rawlings was born on 22 June 1947 and was a former Ghanaian military leader and subsequent politician who ruled the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.
