COVID19; GNACOPS worried over Over-loading, WRECKED School Buses carrying Students



The Executive Director of Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS), Mr Enoch Kwasi Gyetuah has bemoaned the use of wrecked school buses in some Private Schools in the Country use to convey students.

Speaking to Nana Ampratwum on Silver fm's Omanbapa morning show,Mr.Gyetuah said, there are some private schools in the country that need support from the government to enable them purchase comfortable buses to transport students.

He disclosed that, the Council wrote to some BuseManufacturing Companies oversea including a German Car manufacturing company and Perfect Motors in Saudi Arabia.

He said the Saudi Arabian car manufacturing company, Perfect Motors agreed to offer them 400 school buses which are due for shipping but Government is yet to hear their plea to eliminate the tax waiver on the buses for them.

He added if these buses get their way into the country, it will help reduce overloading of students amongst some Private schools.

He finally entreated parents to enroll their wards into nearby community schools. He believes this can also bring down the overloading of buses everyday to schools.
