1D1F: Tiles Dealers Cry For Factory to manufacture raw materials

Tillers in Ghana are crying for help from Government to support their business.

According to them, they want Government’s intervention in the form of establishing a tile factory for them to produce their raw material.

The novel pandemic has also affected constructional workers especially tillers in the country. The impact of the COVID-19 outbreak has put businesses growth into a halt.


The laid down protocols such as border closure by air and see, limited numbers of persons at a program and ceremonies, ban on funerals etc. etc. had had imense negative impact on businesses.

For situational report, Silver FM's correspondent, Nana Ama visited some tiles companies in the Ashanti Region to conversate with them about their businesses.

The move was aimed to ascertain the impact of CORONAVIRUS on their business. It was unearthed that, the price of tiles have increased overwhelmingly due to COVID 19.

They disclosed that the increment has really affected their business plan and their companies are on the verge of collapsing.

They added that they are unable to purchase goods from outside the country due to high pricing.


According to the tile sellers in the interview with Nana Ama, the Ghana-made tiles are durable and quality with long life span and therefore calling on the Government to as a matter of urgency build factory to manufacture raw products of tiles to cut shot foreign burdens on them.

They revealed that, Twyford, Centio and Goodwill local companies producing quality tiles hence need support from the Central Government and other aiders.

"We are humbly appealing to the government to support us and help built tile processing factory to produce more raw products for tiles manufacturing without foreign aid", they entreated the Government through our reporter, Nana Ama a.k.a TUNDRA BABY.
